CTI was founded in 1977 in Rupert, Idaho, by Ramon Christiansen. Ramon combined a background in accounting and programming with a firsthand understanding of the telecommunications industry, gained from his father's career in the field. That combination led him to start building software for rural telecommunications companies across Southern Idaho, and it became the foundation CTI still builds on.
Josh Tatton joined CTI as a software developer in 2004, and quickly became the driving force behind modernizing the company's software and expanding what it could do. He purchased CTI in 2013 and has served as President since 2022, leading a shift from a telecom-focused OSS/BSS provider to a full-scale ERP system. Under his direction, CTI has diversified into new industries and products, giving small business owners the same enterprise-grade tools that power complex organizations, without the complexity or cost usually attached to them.
